Dont know if i told you but we are !! sorry they are organising a party for my mums 80th i happend to say £900 was over the top & my youngest sister said well i think its A special thing to get every1 together ( its posh hotel chairs covered like a wedding big ballroom not even a meal a buffet ) yea relatives are coming from london 12 of them 2 from ireland 12 from liverpool & relatives here all in all not a lot i just feel paying her rent for however long or something like that or something would be better & a small do its a lot of money for a few hrs really pissed off she has never been to see me this has all been done in in a couple of phone calls as i was asked to get in touch with the family in london & liverpool not heard from her since sat when she said she was bookin it am i in the wrong ? x

I don't know your mum, so have no idea if she enjoys a "bash" or would like something a bit more low key better, to mark her special day, only you know that. But, unless your family are asking you to contribute more than you are prepared to, then I guess there is nothing you can do other than accept it's their choice, then go along and enjoy your mum's big day. Families do things out of love as a rule, but I can understand that you would be feeling "out of the loop" and not consulted if all this has been done by your siblings and with only a few phone calls to tell you, rather than ask you, about the plans being made. Rise above it hun, what can't be changed must be endured, so slap a smile on your face, make your mum's special day special, and GO PARTY xxxxxxx

It wasnt a case of lets chat about it just im booking it Well our Clare said shes not going she said they dont bother with us at any other time & it would cost a fortune for clothes shoes etc & drinks for 4 teenagers. My sister walked past our Demi the other day & didnt know who she was & walked past & she only lives round the corner mgt just go see family morning after its all a show off thing were not a proper family the only time i see them is at a do or if they arrive at mums when im there most of my family have not been to my home EVER !!!! & every 1 of them have cars the clothes i bought for my great niece are still here cant be bothered with any of them anything happens in the family & i find out on facebook or off friends you girls are more family to me its hard to explain but keep getting upset about it

Oh Maz sorry your upset, I don't know what to add to what Sal says but it does seem as though they have left you out of the decisions. Personally I don't like a lot of fuss and much prefer something low key but we are all different. I can see where your coming from about new clothes etc. I have been invited to Sue's wedding the (Sue off my fake baby) and I have declined. I can't see the point in buying something I will probably never wear again and I wouldn't be able to get there very easily.
I think if everyone's happy to make this a big do for your mum you might have to bite your tongue and go along with it. Not good for you I know but blowing a fuse isn't going to do your health any good. Roll on June and we can have a good old natter and enjoy ourselves xxxxxxxxxxxx
