Hiya Maz, seems we have all been AWOL.
Don't talk to me about tiles i have been in every tile shop and can't find what I want. Mind you I have lost total interset in my kitchen cos i'm still not satisfied with the worktops. We have put a claim in for compensation but not heard owt yet surprise surprise.

To tell you the truth I'm pissed off with the kitchen and have just not bothered with it. I can't see the sence in putting tiles over a worktop I don't like. I just ignore it now or it would get at me big time. Richard did cut my original floor carpet tiles and put them back down so it didn't look messy so I haven't even got my new flooring down either.
I'm not sure if I put pics up of the colour difference but her it is.

The piece of worktop going across my window where the sink is, is black the side worktops are grey as you can see. I sent these and other pics with my letter for compensation.

Oh that's bad Babs - there shouldn't be any colour difference at all - even given that sometimes things look SLIGHTLY different when you change direction. After all this time I'm not at all supprised that you have lost interest in it lovey !
What sort of response have you had from the company up to now ...... in fact come to think of it, who DID install it in the end ?
I'm sure it will all get sorted out in the end, but something like a new kitchen oughta be so exciting, and no matter what, it's been spoilt for you xxxxxx

Sal I sent my letter of complaint in on the 11th June and haven't heard anything back. I thought I would give them plenty of time in case it had to be passed on to whom it concerned but I think I should have heard somthing by now. I'm not sure what I should do next but my sister suggested I go to the citizens advice and ask them.

The kitchen was fitted by Lifestyle Kitchens at Liverpool which is part of Mastercraft Kitchens.

I was so excited about having a kitchen after waiting 20 years and to be honest I wished I had stopped with my old one even if half the cupboard doors didn't shut properly.

Bloody ell Babs thats terrible i know the feelin were having trouble they havent sent the carcass for the glass unit & they say they have & wont send another the driver has marked as dropped off the 1 they dropped off was allsorts of bits nothing even the rgt size :evil awfull isnt it its making me ill xxx

OMG Maz I'm sorry you are having trouble too.
I don't know what you have to do these days to get good service.

Babs, you should definately take some further advice about this - it's shocking that they haven't even responded to your complaint - did you send your letter recorded delivery, cos if you didn't the first thing they will say is that they never got it .... so it might be a good idea to send a copy of the first letter and a second covering one telling them that you are giving them so many working days to respond and then taking legal advice .... if its signed for they will have to do something even if its only acknowledging your letter in the first instance.
I cant believe you are both having these problems after shelling out SOOO much money - it's disgracefull xxxxx

Thanks Sal, I am going to send them another letter asking why my oringinal one wasn't dealt or acknowledged with and tell them they have 7 days to reply or I will be seeking professional advice to take it further. Do you think thats ok or should I say something else?

Say "legal advice" huni - if you just say "professional advice" they might just think you are going to ask another kitchen fitters opinion - in which case they will likely ignor you ....... I think if you say that "the kitchen was not fitted to the standard as agreed in the verbal contract between us", and that its condition contravenes the "Sale of Goods Act" it will sound as if you know exactly what you are talking about and should motivate them into action - oh, and it's actualy right, it DOESN'T meet either the Sale of goods Act, nor does it full fill the promises they made to you, but hopefully they will end up have to prove that it does, or pay out some sort of compensationto you - and don't forget that "stress" is a HUGE factor these days, so ladle it on thick Go girl, make em squirm xxxxxxx
