I had a knitting day yesterday Maz cos the kitchen fitters finally came. I had to empty ALL my base cupboards AGAIN cos they didn't turn up last time. It took them all day cos they wouldn't change just 1 worktop they changed em all. Thw wide worktop that houses my washer underneath was scratched and where it joined the other at the corner it was a different shade it was more grey than black. Well bugger me if now the opposite side is bloody grey as well.!!!!!!
I now have 2 grey looking tops and one black. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pissed off with it. I had two worktops in my hallway for over 3 weeks, the front door was blocked so if there had been a fire we would never have got out. One top was wider than the other and the fitter said because they were different sizes they can't gaurentee the colour. On the good side he altered my cupboard door on the corner cupboard cos there was a half an inch gap where it folded out and I could see into my cupboard when it was shut AND I went to B&Q to buy a outlet pipe and cover for my extractor fan and he drilled the hole through my wall and fixed it up (for £30). Well at least I don't have to get somebody in to do that. The extractor fan was only internal and my old one took steam etc outside. Everytime I cooked the windows were running with water. I also FINALLY got my bin, I have been using a bucket for 3 months and the only place to put it was right next to the radiator. I am now going to put a claim in for compensation, believe you me I wished I had never had a new kitchen.
Friggin hell Babs, is there no end in the issues with your "dream kitchen" huni ..... I think they should refund you the WHOLE of the cost of it personaly, but doubt they will somehow But they certainly do owe some sort of considerable compensation to recompense you for loss of your own time, stress, phone calls, and worse, for turning your dream into a bloody nightmare Hope you are going to write them the sort of complaint letter that burns holes in their retinas when they read it - dont let them fob you off huni, cos they'll try to, and you deserve better after all the sleepless nights its caused you xxxxx

It has been a nightmare Sal cos I wished I had never had it done. My old kitchen was old but it didn't give me any bother apart from some of the doors wouldn't shut properly. We had thought of having a new bathroom suite but this lot has changed my mind, I'll stick with me grotty bathroom.
I know just what you mean Babs ..... my house can get updated when I'm gone and the kids are in charge untill then me and my wonky old house will just carry on rubbing along together xxxxx
